Like most CPA firms, we’re trying to be paperless and also ensure we have a standardized set of best practices for reviewing our client QuickBooks data. Using the Client Data Review (CDR) feature allows us to do both! In addition to a built-in checklist of items to review, the CDR features time-saving tools that allows you to quickly review and correct client errors. Best of all, you can add notes to the review detailing your procedures or items to consider for next time, and these comments are hidden from your client. This ensures continuity and consistency, and helps ensure you’ve documented your professional due diligence. More than 95% of our clients use QuickBooks, so we’re incorporating the CDR feature as a standard practice within the firm.

I have been providing QuickBooks training and consulting for over 10 years and every year I am very impressed with the new features Intuit puts out. They are listening to accountants and the 2010 edition will help both my practice and my clients. My favorite new feature is the document management feature which I know many of my clients will love.

This updated Version of QuickBooks is full of enchancements other products, and certainly the best solution for small businesses and their accountants. I am really pleased with the updated Intuit Statement Writer that works with this version, the ability to have computer-aided assistance to review possible errors in data entry in the Client Data Review, and the ability to fix the errors as you review. Another great feature this year is the ability to change multiple list items all in the same screen, instead of having to edit each one for changes. Most definitely worth the upgrade, or switch.

QuickBooks Premier, Accountant 2010 is the product to use when reviewing year end numbers and transactions. The improvements to the Client Data Review allow you to easily reclassify a group of transactions as well as find problems with inventory. Another one of my favorite new features is the ability to add/edit multiple list entries. I highly recommend!
